Sports Premium Spending
The governing body regularly evaluate the efficacy of spending. The principle aim is to achieve sustained long term benefits for the children. At Sale & Davys we aim to:
- Provide training for staff to develop their confidence and competence in teaching PE
- Provide access to a wider range of physical and sporting activities both in and out of school
- Increase the number of children who participate in competitive sport
- Increase the amount of physical activity undertaken at school
- Purchase resources that will enhance our PE and sport curriculum
How we have/will use this funding:
- Provide staff with in-service training that will enable them to teach high quality PE
- Provide professional PE training for staff to develop their knowledge and expertise in PE teaching through the Derby Schools Sports Partnership
- Provide training for Physical Literacy with a focus on Early Years
- Facilitate participation in sporting leagues, festivals and tournaments
- Purchase equipment that will be available during lunchtimes and play times to encourage physical activity
- Have a designated play leader at lunchtime to play and implement physical activity
- Purchase school kits to enable more children to participate in external sporting events
- Provide release time for the PE Co-ordinator to allow for the Sports Funding action plan to be implemented, including the organisation of intra-school sporting events
- Provide an ongoing programme of sporting after school clubs
How the funding will impact our school::
- Increased participation in competitive sport for Key Stage 2 children
- Increased number of whole school intra sports events
- Access to wider range of equipment and sporting opportunities
- Participation in new sports and new competitions
- Increased opportunities for after school sporting clubs
- Celebration and recognition of school sport achievement through awards
The school's PE co-ordinator does periodic lesson observations to monitor and review the impact of funding. This helps to ensure the improvements we make are sustainable.
Forest School
Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees. We have funded staff training for Forest School. Each year group spends six weeks during the academic year learning in the outdoor environment.
